Alright guys and girls,

So, I've just finished writing what promises to be a fairly solid album worth of material on my newly bought 7 string and I need some advice before making a record.

Which recording software is most optimal (that is, intuitive to use and replete with tools) for making fairly technical death metal music?

I'm pretty much a total novice when it comes to self producing and I'm working on a modest budget, so please take that into account.
